Slice Sorting

If things just don't align...

If during the reconstruction it becomes apparent that the slice sequence is out of order, we can try to resort the data set. This requires some of the algorithms at work during reconstruction, plus manual inspection - depending on the severity this might be considerable effort. Still it might be worth the effort - this can be evaluated during the reconstruction process, and ordered separately based on effort.

You performed another 3-D imaging method like µ-CT, µ-MR or something similar prior to histological preparation? We can discuss how both data sets - the histology reconstruction and the prior 3-D image - can be correlated to each other!
